NORTHWEST
COORDINATING COMMITTEE
The
purpose of the NWCC is to assist the member clubs
of the Pacific Northwest in promoting paint horses.
NWCC member clubs must be an APHA approved club and
be represented at NWCC meetings by 2 delegates and
2 alternates. The NWCC delegates and alternates are
elected annually to represent each club and serve
as officers, committee members and workers for NWCC
meetings and programs.
FUTURITIES
The
NWCC futurities have been offered since 1978 and include
halter and riding classes with winners receiving prize
money and a custom designed belt buckle Each NWCC
member club annually provides $200, which is dedicated
to purchasing the custom buckles and funding the futurities.
Futurity sponsors are also solicited.
DIRECTORY
The
NWCC directory is produced yearly as an opportunity
for NWCC to publish year end award winners, coming
year show dates, club members names & addresses
and NWCC club names with contact persons. The NWCC
directory is also an opportunity for paint horse enthusiasts
to advertise club show dates, stallions, trainers,
trailer and tack stores, etc. Copies are mailed to
NWCC members and advertisers with the remainder distributed
throughout the Pacific Northwest area and at the World
show and APHA Convention & Workshop.
YEAR
END AWARDS
NWCC
has developed a very extensive year-end awards system.
To participate in the year end award system a person
must join a NWCC member club prior to the first show
they want to have points to count. Each NWCC approved
show secretary is responsible to send results to point
keeper for tabulation of year end awards points. Year
end awards rules are published in this Directory on
page 32-33.
*Please
make note that if you are a high point or reserve
high point winner and wish to have a painting of your
horse as your award, you will need to contact the
nwcc awards coordinator to request this award as it
is no longer a nwcc standard award.
All
APHA approved classes that are offered at NWCC approved
shows receive a year-end hi-point or reserve hi-point
award if a minimum of 25 NWCC points are earned in
that class. The NWCC annual meeting and Year End Awards
banquet are held the first Saturday in December.
Funding
for the NWCC year-end awards system is provided by
a $1 per judge per class fee which is collected by
the show and forwarded to the NWCC Treasurer. The
money is distributed as follows: 10% to Points keeper;
25% to APHA national directors, who attend either/both
Workshop and Convention, to help defray expenses;
65% to awards. Only directors that attend workshop
&/or convention and submit a written report to
NWCC for posting on the NWCC website or the newsletter
editors of the clubs in the state or province they
represent are eligible for NWCC funds. Directors must
also submit copies of expenses for reimbursement,
prior to or at the NWCC December meeting of the year
meetings were attended.
SHOW
DATES & JUDGES
To
provide equal opportunity for each club to host a
show and equal access for contestants to attend as
many shows as possible, only one NWCC show per date
will be approved. A judge may only be hired to judge
one NWCC show per year. In the rare event that a judge
is hired for multiple shows, that judge will only
be counted one time for year end awards.
The
NWCC show and judge coordinator maintains a current
list of show dates and judges. Show managers should
contact the coordinator for available show dates and
previously hired judges before making commitments.
The show dates and judges are published in the NWCC
directory, club newsletters and various other publications.
Individual clubs are responsible for distributing
show premiums although NWCC attempts to maintain a
current mailing list of current NWCC members.
